Garden Designer Miki Sato
MIKI DESIGN STUDIO
"Born in Hokkaido, Japan. She studied horticulture at Writtle University College in UK and got training as a horticulturist at the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens and Arboretum.
Miki's passion for design intensified after visiting Adam Frost’s Chelsea Flower Show Garden in 2007. Now inspired, went on to train at Inchbald School of Design then worked for Adam Frost Design before returning back to Japan to start a Garden design career.
In 2012, she started her career as a garden designer in Hokkaido. She designed the planting for Asahikawa Kitasaito Garden which was recognised at the IFLA Asia-Pac Landscape Architecture Awards 2017.
She is aiming to show the plants’s own power make people happy and relaxed through her garden, it’s based on her highly individual and site specific design known as "The right place for the right plant”."
